Republicans Offer Ideas for Affordable Health Insurance
A couple of weeks ago President Obama challenged House Republicans that in regards to affordable health insurance legislation, if they had better ideas they should fess up.
In a piece on health care legislation at the Wall Street Journal a couple of them did.
Newt Gingrich and John C. Goodman’s article on how to provide Americans with affordable health insurance offers a different spin on many of the ideas already addressed by Congress.
For example controlling health-care fraud, making medical breakthroughs accessible to patients, and better informing consumers about their care were all addressed in some way or another in the bill that has been stalled in Congress since January.
The GOP just sees different ways to get to the same goal.
While this kind of hair-splitting could just mean more arguing and less work getting done, it could also mean that some bipartisan work might actually get done.
And if Americans can finally benefit from affordable health insurance, in most cases few will worry about how it finally came to pass.
